This person requested an Egyptian-themed romance fic for Fox X Krystal, Falco X Katt, and Tails X Zooey.

Thousands of years ago, there was a magnificent city out in the Great Desert. The people there were happy and prosperous, and the city itself was peaceful and calm. And ruling this city were three benevolent pharaohs.

The first pharaoh, and the high leader of the three, was Fox McCloud. He was a young male fox, about in his late twenties, with orange-brown fur, cream-colored fur on his muzzle, underbelly, tail-tip, and his hair, which was done in a crew-cut, and green eyes. He wore a green and white headdress, a red sash around his neck, gold gauntlets, a gold belt, white lower garment that reached his knees, green and silver shin-guards, and leather sandals. He is a great leader who can keep a calm head in a bad situation and lead his people out of said problem.

The second pharaoh, and the second-in-command, was Falco Lombardi. He was a young male pheasant, about in his late-twenties, with blue feathers, red patches around his eyes, a yellow beak, green eyes, and long tail feathers. He wore a red and gold headdress, a red and gold chest plate, golden gauntlets, a red sash, a white lower garment that reaches his knees, red and gold shin-guards, and leather sandals. Once a common street rat, the former pharaoh took pity on him and raised him as his own son. Once Falco grew up, he joined Fox as a pharaoh and helped him in handling criminals and helping them to reform.

And finally, the third and youngest pharaoh was Miles Prower, also known as Tails. He was a young fox with yellow fur, twin tails, white fur on his muzzle, underbelly, and tail tips, and blue eyes. He wore a gold headband, a white robe, a blue sash, gold cuffs, and leather sandals. Despite his young age, Tails' intelligence was far beyond that of a normal person. And thanks to his intellect, he helped to construct many devices that helped out his people and the city in some of the best ways possible.

The three pharaohs were to be engaged to three beautiful women.

Fox was engaged to a slave girl named Krystal. Krystal was a young vixen, about in her early-to-mid twenties, with blue fur and darker blue, short hair, turquoise eyes, a lighter shade of blue on her face, belly, and tail-tip, and she had a slender and curvy figure. She wore a golden tiara and necklace, beads on her braids, a golden bikini top, a short loincloth, gold gauntlets and shin guards, leather sandals, and two gold bands on her tail. Originally, she was owned by an abusive pharaoh, who only used her for his own purposes. But when Fox's army overtook the city and put the malevolent leader out of power, he freed Krystal and let her go her own way. But Krystal was moved and touched by his action, and decided to follow him back to his city and serve him. Fox took her in with open arms, but he did not keep her as a slave and let her continue to live in the palace. In time, Fox and Krystal fell in love.

Falco fell in love with Katt, a thief that was sent to him for reforming. She was a young cat, about the same age as Krystal, with pink fur and a white muzzle, blue eyes, and a white curl on her head, and a white tip on her tail. Her clothes were dirty, torn and ragged, and had various patches along them. She was caught trying to steal from the palace until she was caught by one of the royal guards. He was actually going to try and kill her until Falco stopped him. Falco took Katt with him to help reform her and take care of her. In time, they fell in love and Falco allowed Katt to stay in the palace with him.

And finally, Tails fell in love with Zooey the Vixen. She was a yellow vixen with a white muzzle and tail-tip, sky-blue eyes, and long hair. She wore a flowing red robe and leather sandals. She was the daughter of the palace librarian, and a close friend of Tails. Tails would occasionally go down to the library just to spend time with her and be with her. Over time, the two began to become attracted to each other, and were soon engaged.

The three pharaohs, along with their three future wives, were very happy and were looking forward to the day when they would marry. And the three couples were set to be wed on the same day. To them, nothing could ruin that perfect and beautiful day.

However, like a freak sandstorm, everything came crashing down all at once.

For out of the desert's outskirts, like an evil flood, came a horde of evil jackal warriors. They swamped the city, killing and destroying all in their path. Fox and Falco rallied their troops to combat the jackals. The troops immediately clashed with the jackals, but the jackals outnumbered them vastly.

After a vicious attack that lasted three long weeks, most of the city was leveled, and most of the people living in the city were killed. Despite winning the battle, most of the troops were killed. But worse yet, among those killed were the soon-to-be wives of the pharaohs. Seeing their city leveled, their people slaughtered, and their loves killed hit the three pharaohs hard. And with a heavy heart, they watched as their people, and would-be wives were wheeled away to be mummified. This was another severe blow to the pharaohs, and they themselves died shortly from a broken heart.

What was left of the city was forced to leave and head to a new place. But with their pharaohs dead, many were afraid for their future. However, the pharaohs' high priest, a rabbit named Peppy, was entrusted by the pharaohs that if anything happened to them that he would step in and take over.

Peppy was an elderly rabbit with grey fur, a white muzzle and thick white eyebrows, and brown eyes. He wore an elegant, flowing robe and a vermillion and gold headdress, a vermillion sash around his hips, and leather sandals. He was the one who helped the former pharaohs lead the city before Fox, Falco, and Tails took over, and he was the one who oversaw the mummifications.

When he and his priests were mummifying the pharaohs and their wives, Peppy called upon the gods to grant him one last favor. Peppy wanted the pharaohs and their loves to be together for eternity in the afterlife, a desire they were denied in life. And for his devotion to them, the gods were more than happy to grant him this request.

However, Anubis had other ideas for them. But before he decided to act on it, he first had to consult with Ra. Anubis had his reasons for wanting to help out the pharaohs. Reasons that left him feeling personally responsible for the travesty that happened. Upon hearing his story and reasoning, Ra did punish Anubis for his actions, but nevertheless granted his request. Anubis thanked Ra and went to meet with the spirits of the pharaohs.

* Fox's P.O.V. *

Wha-? What is this? Is this... is this what the afterlife is? What trickery is this? At first, we were greeted by a bright light, as bright as the sun. We walked towards it, hoping we would enter the afterlife and be reunited with our loves. But when we reached it, we were greeted by darkness once more. Is this what our fate is to be? To be condemned to darkness and torment for time eternal? What did we do to deserve this fate? Although, to be honest, I do feel we deserve this; we allowed our people to die at the hands of those accursed jackals.

* Normal P.O.V. *

The three pharaohs just stood in one place, unknown of what else to do. But soon, a lone torch lit up, filling the place with a faint light. That was followed by another light across from it, as well as many more. Soon, enough torches were lit to fill the place with light, revealing that they were in a long and wide hall. At the end of the hall was a golden and elegant throne. The three did not know what to do but press on. But as they walked forward to the throne, they noticed that, in between the columns, there were several sarcophagi. Tails and Falco examined them and noticed something familiar about them; they were the sarcophagi of past pharaohs. The one closest to the throne was that of the previous pharaoh. "The kings of our past..." Tails whispered. "Where are we?"
"I don't know... but it's amazing." Falco said.

There was a short moment of silence before a short laugh broke it. The laugh struck them dead to their core. They had no idea why, but the atmosphere got far darker and chilling. A wave of fear washed over them. They slowly turned around and saw a tall jackal walking towards them. He had black fur and purple eyes. He wore a draping purple and gold headdress with a gold headband with a cobra design, a purple and gold necklace, purple and gold guards on his biceps, bandages on his forearms and some gold bands on a few of his fingers, a purple and gold belt, a white cloth that reaches his knees, purple and gold shin-guards, and he was carrying a staff with a hooked tip colored in purple and gold. There was a dark purple aura in the hook.

    "Is that...?" Tails questioned.
"It can't be!" Falco exclaimed in a hushed tone. "It's..."
"Anubis!" Fox exclaimed, his voice hushed and scared. Out of instinct, he and the two pharaohs bowed down to him. Anubis walked forward, his staff making a metallic clink as he walked forward. When he was standing before them, Anubis held his hand up to them. An aura formed in his hand, one as golden as the sun. He smiled; it was the pharaohs Peppy told him and the gods about.

"You may rise." he told them softly. The pharaohs stood up, standing on trembling knees. "It is ok. You have no reason to fear me. I have weighed your hearts, and I have found them pure and good. Truly worthy of entering into the afterlife."
"But... if that is true, then why are we here?" Fox asked.
"Your high priest has called upon us." Anubis told them. "He has asked us to help you and your loves to be together for eternity. But I also have some unfortunate news for you."
    "What is it?" Tails asked.
"The jackals that attacked you were not mere bandits. They were my troops." Anubis said. The three pharaohs gasped in horror and shock. "A while ago, a general called upon us to help him in conquering his enemy. We agreed, and I gave him command over my troops. But what I did not know was that he was merely lying to me just to get my troops and conquer everyone EXCEPT the original target. Also, the mere fact that your troops still managed to slay mine is impressive." he added.
"So... what happened to the other guy?" Falco asked. "When you discovered he lied to you, you must have been angered."
"I was... and I punished him rightly so." Anubis said. "His body has been mangled, and his soul has been burned."
"...Yikes." Tails said. "I guess you don't like liars, huh?"
"No, I do not." Anubis said. "And for that, I have made a bargain with Ra. Not only will I allow you and your loved ones to be together, but I will also rebuild your city and bring your people back."

The three pharaohs were beyond elated. They would regain their city and their people. And best of all, they would be reunited with their loves.

But Anubis was not done just yet.

"However, there is only one condition to this." Anubis told them. "Your high priest placed a charm on you and your loved ones. For them, they would be reincarnated again and again until they find you. And as for you, your spirits will be bound within the temple until your loves find you. Once you reunite, your city will be rebuilt, your people will return, and you and your loves will be bound together for eternity."
"I figured there would be a catch to this." Falco said. "But it sounds fair enough."
"I know it sounds bad. But I know your future wives will find you. I will assure that it happens in one way or another." Anubis said. "But for now, you must return to the temple."
"Ok. Farewell Anubis." Fox said, bowing to the jackal god.
"Farewell Fox." Anubis replied, bowing in return. "We shall meet again in time."

And so, the three pharaohs' spirits were sent back to the temple, and their future wives' spirits were reincarnated in another time. And for many years, the pharaohs waited in the temple for their loved ones to return. Meanwhile, their loves would hunt high and low for them. Only until they died would they stop, and only would they begin anew when they reincarnate in another life.

Anubis hated to see them going through the vicious cycle again and again, but he was determined to make sure that they reunited. And each time, he reincarnated their spirits closer and closer to the temple where the pharaohs lied and waited.

This was going to take a long time.

* And that concludes part 1 of this two-shot. I hope it was worth it. Stay tuned until next time.
